Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve user experience, and to provide analytics and personalised content.
2. Cookies We Use
learnityourself.in uses the following categories of cookies:
2.1 Strictly necessary
Required for the website to function. These include session cookies set by our authentication provider (NextAuth) when you sign in, and security tokens to prevent cross-site request forgery. These cannot be disabled.
2.2 Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (cookie names beginning with _ga, _gid) to understand how visitors use the site. The data is aggregated and anonymised; we do not link it to your personal account. Retention: 14 months.
2.3 Advertising
We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies (e.g. __gads, NID) to serve and measure ads. You can manage these via Google's Ad Settings or via the Your Online Choices opt-out tool.
2.4 Preference
We use localStorage (not cookies) to remember your selected language preference within a chapter page, so that bilingual examples stay on your chosen language. This data never leaves your browser.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some pages embed third-party content (e.g. YouTube videos for chapter explanations). When you interact with that content, the third party may set its own cookies. We do not control these and recommend reviewing the relevant third party's policy.
4. How to Control Cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse all cookies, accept only first-party cookies, or delete cookies after each session. Disabling strictly-necessary cookies may break parts of the site (e.g. you will not be able to sign in).
5. Children
We do not knowingly set advertising or analytics cookies for users under 18. Where we identify a user is under 18 (via account self-declaration), we restrict cookie categories to strictly-necessary only.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
