Memory Tip

Future Simple = instant decision or promise made RIGHT NOW. "I will help you." — decided at this moment. If you planned it before speaking, use "going to" instead. Future Simple = PROMISE made on the spot!

English Explanation

We use will for decisions made at the moment of speaking, predictions, and promises. For pre-planned future actions, use going to.

  • Positive: Subject + will + base verb
  • Negative: Subject + will + not (won't) + base verb
  • Question: Will + subject + base verb?

will vs going to

  • will = decided NOW, instant decision → "The phone is ringing — I will answer it."
  • going to = planned before → "I am going to visit Tirupati next week." (already planned)
