Memory Tip

Future Perfect Continuous = duration UP TO a future point. "By December, I will have been studying English for one year." December = future point. One year = duration up to that point. How long? One year. By when? December.

English Explanation

The rarest of the 12 tenses. It combines future perfect (completion) with continuous (duration) to express how long an activity will have been going on by a certain future moment.

  • Positive: Subject + will + have + been + verb+ing
  • Negative: Subject + will + not + have + been + verb+ing
  • Question: Will + subject + have + been + verb+ing?
